Personal Blurb:

I have been on the Governing Board for Althorpe and Keadby Primary School since 2018 as a Parent Governor and more recently appointed as Chair of the Resources Committee.

I moved to Keadby in 2016 and have two children, one of whom attends Althorpe and Keadby Primary School and the other is now a young adult.

I am employed as CEO of East Riding Voluntary Action Services Limited and Voluntary Action North Lincolnshire Limited providing, both infrastructure organisations providing a wide range of support to charities, voluntary sector organisations, not-for-profit organisations and communities across North Lincolnshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

I am also the Director of Phoenix Accountancy and Business Consultancy, and provide consultancy services to a wide range of organisations.

My experience includes people management, HR, accountancy, payroll, funding, commissioning, monitoring, evaluation, training, governance and information governance.

I am a qualified chartered management accountant, and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the Association of Accountant Technicians and the Society for Education and Training.

I decided to become a School Governor to support the school, to give back to the local community and help to increase the aspirations of local children. Having come from a disadvantaged background, I have an understanding of the difficulties faced within families from both internal and external issues, however it is my belief that your background doesn’t have to limit your achievements.  With a positive mindset and strong self-belief people can achieve anything they set their mind too.

I look forward to continuing to support the school with their strategic governance and other activities so that we can raise the aspirations of our children so that they can achieve their dreams in the future.
